Our Advocacy Service has been awarded the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark

Our Advocacy Service is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark (QPM) from the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi).

The QPM is the UK’s only independent quality performance mark for organisations offering independent advocacy.

To gain the QPM, we had to undergo a rigorous self-assessment process and policy review followed by a structured site visit from an NDTi assessor. Our assessor met and spoke with a mixture of clients, stakeholders and MSA’s to get further information about how we deliver our service and how it best meets the needs of the people we support.

Gail Petty, QPM Manager and Lead for Advocacy and Rights at NDTi said:

“The Advocacy Quality Performance Mark is only awarded to advocacy organisations who can demonstrate that theyare providing excellent services to people often experiencing challenging situations in their lives. It indicates that they have the training and policies in place to ensure people’s rights are upheld and their preferences are heard and responded to.”

While our assessor found many examples of good practice in the service we are particularly proud that she identified:

“Throughout the assessment procedure it was evident that the principles of empowerment and being person led are at the heart of the N-compass’s advocacy services. All the stakeholders I interviewed were able to describe the person led approaches to advocacy delivery and very clear of their admiration for the organisation putting the needs of their beneficiaries at the forefront of their work.”

After all, it’s the reason why we all do what we do!
